The CAP Board of Directors is excited to present Roald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka” as this year’s show, with community performance dates January 8 – 23, 2010. We will also have three days of school shows, January 12, 14 and 19.
“Willy Wonka” is relatively new show to community theater and we are excited for its debut in our area! This show in based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl and is most like the Gene Wilder movie, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” (rather than the Johnny Depp version).

This show is for 1st grade and older. 1st & 2nd graders will have the same requirement as before; parents must be heavily committed to be in the black box when we move into the PAC, or be in the show.
Registration will be on Friday October 2nd from 5-7pm....and Saturday October 3rd from 11am-1pm. You will only need to come once. Don’t forget your home, school and sports calendars through January 23rd so you can fill out your conflict calendar. Registration for this show is $75 with some possible costume fees additional. (We always say this "just in case"....)
Sign ups for auditions will be available at registration. With many roles to audition, we will start on Monday October 4 and continue with auditions/call backs until all roles are filled. The cast list will be posted on or before
October 19th.
If you are auditioning, please come prepared with a song of your choice. Please bring a CD with music only (no sing along track please) or sheet music if needed. Also understand that you must commit to school shows in order to be considered for a principal role.
Ensemble rehearsals will start on Sat. October 17!!!! We will start with a mandatory cast/parent meeting. As always, we have a short time frame to rehearse so attendance will be strictly enforced....we are on a very tight schedule so we will need everyone’s best effort. We will have ensemble rehearsals every Saturday until two weeks prior to opening. Everyone will come from 2-4 pm, but we may change/expand this time frame if needed.
Principals (leads) will start rehearsal as soon as we have a cast list and will be scheduled Tues. Thurs and Sat. We will adjust as we need to…if we need more time.
Again, the two weeks prior to opening will be 100% mandatory. This will include rehearsals over CHRISTMAS BREAK! (no rehearsal the week of Christmas)
